Jerry Farber Art

Biography

My artwork is my way of promoting and sharing warmth and reflections of memories.I think everything can be said with warm colors and vibrant shades. As simple as a single tomato struck odd by the light, or a tiny square in Florence Italy where the buildings are alive with texture and age. Yesterday doesn't need to be forgotten when each new day of happiness can be forever captured and immortalized. Summer mornings and winter afternoons and autumn trails and every single thing in between...it all glows with warmth and color.
In my paintings detail and reality become unnecessary when they can be implied, and fine lines and accuracy are unimportant. It is the mood that is relevant and the initial feeling of seeing that is most important, The particular way the sunlight illuminates the buildings as you cross the Grand canal in Venice for the very first time. the sights and sounds and fragrances in the air, everything is alive all around you. That fleeting second when you take it all in is a fraction of a memory and it will always be with you, Vivid and vibrant, Its a forgotten building long since abandoned that somehow retains possibilities because you can never know all the memories that it holds. You stumble across it one autumn afternoon while hiking through the woods, and you are momentarily touched by its humility and its haunting beauty.
This is what I am sharing.
I am very excited about he future, and all its unknowns and influences it will have not only on my art work, but also on my life. I am most Happy and content while painting, even with the pieces I do not like, and it helps me look forward to the unknown.
the best is yet to come
